Sometimes, a project comes along that is deeply personal and filled with meaning. Recently, I created a poster in honor of my wife’s father, a man whose ingenuity and hard work left a lasting legacy. He was the founder of Winkler Gesellschaft M.B.H., a company he built from the ground up, centered around his innovative tunnel-proofing machine. His story is one of creativity, determination, and success.
The heart of this project was recreating his original company logo. Designed by hand with pencil and paper, it reflected the meticulous care and craftsmanship he poured into his work. I took great care to faithfully replicate this design, ensuring it maintained the authenticity and character of the original.
To complement the logo, I researched and gathered his old patents—the tangible proof of his inventive spirit. These documents were carefully mocked up into the composition, highlighting the technical brilliance behind his creations and the foundation of his successful company.
The final poster is more than a piece of art; it’s a tribute to a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark on his industry and on the people who knew him. Giving this gift to my wife was a way to celebrate her father’s achievements and preserve his legacy for generations to come. This project was truly a labor of love, blending design, history, and heartfelt remembrance.
